Don’t be misled by the unassuming exterior of Forres Community Centre, head inside for a simple but tasty and great value menu of homemade veggie burgers, bagels and more.
I love a proper made-from-scratch vegetable burger so I was keen to check out the offering at Forres Coffee House. When we visited we could choose from a beetroot, black bean and quinoa patty or a sweet potato bhaji burger. Both were great and I recommend a side order of fries too.
Other vegan options include bagels (which they make themselves) with various toppings, soup and they regularly feature interesting salad boxes on their specials board, for example charred sweetcorn with lime, coriander, rice and black beans or aubergine curry, sag aloo, biryani rice and spiced cauliflower.
I really enjoyed the relaxed school-meets-cute-cafe vibe, with old school tables mixed with upholstered mid-century furniture. A stack of games and kids books make it family friendly and somewhere you can linger over your coffee.
