Yaman, who hails from Damascus, is cooking up some seriously tasty (and excellent value) falafels on the Highland Food and Drink Trail by the River Ness.
I tried the falafel wrap which is packed with salad, pickles, tahini and pomegranate molasses on lovely chewy flatbread, sourced from a Syrian bakery near Glasgow. Made fresh, you can watch the falafels being cooked… what can I say? It is good and so filling. You can also have a falafel platter which is an even more generous portion.
The menu also features a lentil salad which is delicious. It’s not always available, but definitely worth having when it is.
Both the falafel and lentil salad are easily vegan, just request this when ordering as otherwise he would drizzle on yoghurt.
At the moment, they’re by the river Tuesday-Thursday but keep an eye on their socials, as they will occasionally be at other locations too.
