Offering a modern take on traditional Asian cuisine, Hou Hou Mei has been a hit in Inverness since opening and delivers an indulgent selection of vegan options.

The menu suggests sharing dishes, which is a great way to make sure you can sample more. From pan-fried dumplings and crisp tempura veggies to stir fries and chilli-spiked curry dishes there is lots to try. Plus in a world of sorbets, a special shout out to their sticky coconut rice with glazed pineapple, delicious! Vegan mochi and an array of sorbets are also available.

I found portions generous – a small and large plate each was too much for us. After chatting to our waitress she recommended in future ordering a selection of small plates and then taking it from there.
